Iran, China to cooperate in manufacturing electric cars


TEHRAN, May 6 (MNA) – Iranian private sector and Chinese industrial units plan to cooperate in production of electric cars, IRNA reported on Saturday.

During the visit of an Iranian delegation to several industrial units specialized in producing electric cars in Shanghai, eastern China, it was agreed that the two sides share technological know-how in this regard.

Ali Mohammad Sha’eri, the deputy director of Iran’s Environment Protection Organization, told IRNA that cars are the major source of pollution in big cities including Tehran and a plan is underway to support private sector to produce electric cars.
