Iran Never Waits for Decisions of Anti-ISL Coalition
(FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined that Iran will continue its fight against terrorism irrespective of the decisions made by the US-led coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group.
"Iran had cautioned the financial and political supporters of the ISIL against the threat of the terrorist group and under the present conditions it has no doubt to fight terrorism and it will not wait for the decisions of the anti-ISIL coalition," the Iranian deputy foreign minister said during a meeting of the Iranian and Kuwaiti government's joint political committee here in Tehran.
The Kuwaiti deputy foreign minister, who led his country's delegation in the talks, underlined Iran's significant and constructive role in the developments in the region, and asked for the two countries' cooperation in the campaign against terrorism.
Khaled Jarrallah underlined the serious threats posed by the ISIL terrorist group to the regional countries, and stressed the necessity of continued consultations and cooperation between the two countries in this regard.
Iran has repeatedly stressed that it would not take part in the US-led coalition against the ISIL.
On Monday, Amir Abdollahian said Iran is suspicious of the US motives in forming a coalition to fight the ISIL terrorist group.
"Since the very first day of the crisis in Syria, we have told the westerners that supporting terrorism threatens the global security, and that Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups have grown more professional after over a decade of terrorist operations in Afghanistan and Iraq," Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with the Kenyan parliament's National Security and Foreign Relations Commission Chairman Mohammad Yusuf Haji in Tehran.
"They can carry out dangerous terrorist operations in any part of the world and the Americans have now understood this and have called for cooperation with Iran, but we are suspicious of their intention for campaigning terrorism," he added.
