Iran Supports World States’ Practical Anti-Terrorism Moves

(FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underscored the country's support for those world states, specially the ones in the region, that take real and practical measures against terrorism.

"We have adopted practical measures in fighting terrorism and if other countries take practical measures in this regard too, we will support them," Larijani said in a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Salim al-Jabouri in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Larijani who was earlier this week in Syria and Lebanon before visiting Iraq, underlined that the three countries' determination to fight terrorism is appreciable.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the determination of these governments to fight terrorism," he added.

Asked by reporters if he planned to visit the Iraqi Kurdistan region during the Iraq trip which has taken him to the holy city of Najaf as well as the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad since yesterday, Larijani said, "We intend to visit there too during the trip."

The Iranian speaker started his tri-nation tour of Syria, Lebanon and Iraq on Sunday.

Larijani visited the holy city of Najaf, Southern Iraq, on Tuesday on the last leg of his regional tour.

He arrived in Baghdad today to hold meetings with the Iraqi president, prime minister, parliament speaker and a group of other Iraqi figures and political leaders.
