Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that removal of the sanctions against Iran is an indispensable part of the talks which should be done if there is to be a nuclear deal between Tehran and the six world powers, otherwise any agreement would be meaningless.
N. Deal Means Definite, And Not Possible, Removal of Sanctions

Addressing a large number of Iranian people in the holy city of Mashhad on Saturday afternoon, the Leader cautioned that the US statements that Iran needs to fulfill its undertakings before the sanctions are removed as nothing, but a trick.

"Removal of sanctions is a part of the negotiations and not their result; therefore, as the honorable president (Rouhani) has clearly stated, the sanctions should be removed immediately after the agreement," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Stressing that Iranian officials, the negotiating team and the nation would never give in to the US bullying, he reminded that Iran is only negotiating over its nuclear activities and would never accept to talk about any other issue in the meetings with the world powers.

"We will not negotiate with the US on domestic, regional and arms issues at all since the US policy in the region is based on stirring insecurity and confrontation with the regional states and Islamic Awakening which runs counter to the pivotal policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Referring to the US officials' remarks that Iran's decisions in any possible deal should be irreversible, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Such words are also unacceptable because if they believe that they will be entitled to re-impose the sanctions under some other pretext after the deal, then there is no reason for us to accept irreversible moves and undertakings."

He underscored that Iran's nuclear industry is an indigenized and popular industry which should continue its advances as progress is an indispensable part of any industry and technology.

The Supreme Leader said the enemies imposed sanctions on Iran to deal a blow to the economy but to no avail, and added, "Now that Iran has entered negotiations with them they are surprised to see that Iran has managed to neutralize the so-called crippling sanctions."

Noting that the sanctions, though were unlawful under international law, provided Iran with an opportunity to develop independent economy, he said, "They thought that by the crippling sanctions the people will stage protest against the government, so they engineered the sanctions to divide the people and the government."

Under the current circumstances that the US has imposed an undeclared war, anyone who tries to get out of this situation victoriously has done religious Jihad, said Ayatollah Khamenei.

Ayatollah Khamenei advised the government to explore the potentials of domestic economy, and said that the national economy has extensive capacities which have not yet been explored and the government must utilize the great potentials of the national economy to get out of the current situation victoriously.

The Supreme Leader rejected the idea that compromise with the Western governments will lead the national economy to a boom citing manipulation of oil prices by the Western governments.

He dismissed the proposal put forward by US President Barak Obama in his Nowrouz message to Iranian people that Iranians must accept the US dictation if they want to salvage the national economy.

The Supreme Leader called for pursuing the resistance economy, and said that the government should spare no effort to go ahead with the resistance economy.
