Musavi’s Honesty, Shining as the Sun
Morteza Haji, Khatami’s minister of education and a supporter of Mir Hosein Musavi has commented on Musavi’s foreign diplomacy and the impact of his honesty in the present political atmosphere:

Musavi’s statement that: "for being global, we must be Iranian at first" clarifies his the objectives of his foreign diplomacy. This means that at first we need to rebuild Iran and reinforce its position in the region. Then, with a powerful Iran we can play a more prominent role in the international politics and influence decisions.

Haji added that: Musavi will definitely follow a policy of détente and trust-building in his foreign diplomacy. He believes that cooperation, trust and interaction with other countries are the best means to fulfill national interests.

Former minister of education added that: in the tenth presidential elections, we are witnessing that there are camps for and against the government. Three candidates criticize its record while one [Ahmadinejad himself] supports its policies. The ninth administration has acted so weakly that even those who support it have no valid reason.

Some of Ahmadinejad’s supporters have directly said that they are backing him since they don’t want the reformists to win the elections. So it is not that Ahmadinejad is an efficient president, or he has served our national interests, but because they fear that his opponents rise to power.

It is a shame that instead of being concerned about national interests and the country’s benefits, Musavi’s opponents support Ahmadinejad who they don’t believe in only to block rivals’ access to power.

Haji added that: in an atmosphere contaminated with ambiguity and lie, Musavi’s honesty shines as a sun, and you see that people are supporting honesty and truth against demagoguery.
