Masouleh Welcomes the Iranian New Year

As spring approaches, Iran's most celebrated village prepares for Nowruz celebrations.
A part and parcel of Nowruz, celebration of the new Iranian year which starts from March 21st, is khaneh-tekani (literally 'house-shaking'); that is, an all-out cleansing of one's house to start a pure, healthy brand new year. Photos picture the khaneh-tekani proceedings in Masouleh, Gilan Province; a UNSESCO cultural heritage in northern Iran.
