Tehran -- An Omani media delegation which went on an official trip to Iran visited the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and other publishers of daily newspapers in Tehran. The delegation met with chief-editors and journalists from different editorial departments in IRNA. Touraj Shiralilou, Public Relations and International Relations Director at IRNA, briefed the delegation on the different departments of IRNA and its publications.

He also touched on the co-operation between Iran and the Sultanate. Touraj pointed out: "IRNA and Oman News Agency (ONA) share mutual co-operation in sharing news. In 2000, IRNA signed an agreement with ONA to start a new era of media co-operation between both news agencies. Another front of co-operation was also arranged between Iran Daily and Oman Daily Observer".

"About 10 years ago, an agreement was signed between both newspapers for exchanging news and experiences between the two renowned English newspapers. Such kinds of co-operation enable journalists and media agencies alike to hone and develop their experiences as well as exchanging ideas with each other", he remarked.
