IRI to develop new fighter jet - DM

IRIB - Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a fresh project, intended to design and build a new advanced fighter jet, Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Thursday.


Brigadier General Vahidi said that Iran has gained considerable experience through the design and mass production of its first home-made Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) and Azarakhsh (Lightening) fighter jets. 


He made the remarks in Nojeh air base in the city of Hamedan, located 400 kilometers (248 miles) southwest of the Iranian capital Tehran.
