Iran to launch Navid satellite by March 2012

 Mehr News – The domestically manufactured Navid satellite will be launched from the Safir B1 satellite launcher by the end of March 2012.


The satellite is currently undergoing pre-launch tests.


Navid is a research satellite, which was designed by scientists at the Science and Technology University in Tehran.


Iran launched its first domestically manufactured satellite, namely the Omid (hope), into orbit on February 2, 2009.
