IRIB NEWS - IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that the Zionist regime is doomed to collapse and such degradation is imminent.

Speaking to Egyptian al-Akhbar Newspaper, President Ahmadinejad warned against likely threat against Iran, while referring to threatening speech of Zionist regime's president, Shimon Peres.

He said Iran's potential is growing and that's why it has been able to step into global competitions.

He added that Iran has no nuclear bomb, while the Zionist Regime, which has 300 nuclear warheads, is a mischief threatening the entire region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is only after nuclear technology for peaceful purposes based on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that is a signatory to it, he added.

The President said that the Zionist regime and the West, especially the US, are fearful of Iran's potential and role, so they try to draw up international support for military operations aiming to stop Iran's role.

He said the world bullying powers should know that Iran will not allow them to take any action against it.

Washington wants to preserve Zionism but to no avail, he added.

Asked to comment on the US' recent forged scenario against Iran and its claim of the country's attempt to assassinate Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Ahmadinejad said the US' aim behind the false scenario is to meet its own interests.

"Iran and Iranian nation do not even think of committing such a crime let alone doing it; the US, however, has always been trying to hatch a plot against Iran. Under such conditions we have always been acting based on God orders."
