Iranian Animation ‘Shekarestan’ to Hit Dubai Screens

Cultural Heritage News - The award-winning Iranian animation Shekarestan, directed by Babak Nazari, is slated to hit the screens Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

Produced by Seyyed-Masoud Safavi, the series is to hit Dubai movie theaters in March 2012.

 

Shekarestan tells a series of stories inspired by Persian proverbs, anecdotes and stories.

 

The animation has been screened in numerous national and international festivals, introducing Persian culture and arts.

 

Nazari, who has directed 90 episodes of Shekarestan, has won numerous awards including the best animation award of the 27th Tehran International Short Film Festival.

 

Shekarestan has also been screened at the 7th Bangalore Children’s Film Festival and the Changzhou International Animation and Digital Arts Festival (CICDAF) in China.
