Germany Holds Iranian Film Week in Berlin

Cultural Heritage News: Berlin has held an Iranian film week in an attempt to present the country’s cinematic achievements and Persian culture in the German city.

The event was opened with prominent Iranian filmmaker Seyyed Reza Mirkarimi’s 2005 production So Far, So Close.

Discussion sessions will also be held on the sideline of the screening program with Iranian cinema officials, filmmakers, and actors.

Berlin’s Iranian film week kicked off on the final day of the 2012 Berlinale which granted its Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) Award to Modest Reception by Iranian director Mani Haqiqi.

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi also served on the jury of the 2012 Berlin Film Festival, which was presided by British director Mike Leigh.
