(FNA)- Syria's Information Minister Omran Zoabi deplored the Turkish government's interference in Syria's domestic affairs, and cautioned that Ankara's wrong policies pave the way for an imminent fall of the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In an interview with Al-Manar TV, Zoabi said the fall of Erdogan is "imminent", and added, "His (Erdogan) positions concerning the falling of the Syrian regime are worth no reaction from our side."

He criticized Turkey's support for rebel groups in Syria, and stated that thousands of well-equipped militants entered Syria through its borders with some neighboring countries, especially through Turkey.

"There's nothing called the Free Syrian Army but separate armed groups working on the basis of a Western-Israeli scheme in Syria," Zoabi pointed out.

Yesterday, a senior military aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader cautioned Ankara that it will definitely be the losing side in the conflict.

"In hitting Syria, Turkey, as a US proxy, and the financial support of certain Arab states are, in fact, the main actors, and it is, of course, the main loser of this battle field and has been used like an instrument by the trans-regional powers," Safavi noted.

He pointed to growing popular protests against Ankara's anti-Syria policies, and noted that the people of Turkey are Muslims and naturally oppose their country's policies against Syria as another Muslim state.

Last week, thousands of the Turkish people staged a rally in Antakya province at the country's border with Syria to express their protest against Erdogan's hostile policies on Syria.
