(FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the UN Security Council (UNSC) is not capable of resolving international and national problems and promoting justice and security in the world.

"The discriminatory privilege, the influential and imposed role of the Security Council as well as the right of veto and some of its owners are unacceptable and illegitimate and for these reasons the Security Council is incapable of administering justice and maintaining a stable order and security in the world," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting in New York on Monday.

Also, President of the UN General Assembly Nasser Abdulaziz said in the inauguration ceremony of the 16th heads-of-state summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran on August 30 that the UN General Assembly has already discussed the need for restructuring the UNSC, and reached some results.

Ahmadinejad left Tehran for New York at the head of a delegation on Saturday in a bid to attend the 67th UN General Assembly meeting and hold talks with senior heads of state who will participate in the meeting.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to address the 67th UN General Assembly session in New York on Wednesday.
