P5+1-Iran talks possible in September - Iranian ambassador to Moscow

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi has said he sees no obstacles to negotiations between the P5+1 group and Iran in September this year.

 "I don't see any restrictions or obstacles to this," Sajjadi told journalists in Moscow on Wednesday. The P5+1 group should propose the dates for such negotiations, Sajjadi said.

"Naturally, the new Iranian government should be formed first. Anyway, we are ready for negotiations," he said.

The P5+1 group of countries negotiating with Iran on the settlement of the problem of its nuclear program includes the five UN Security Council members (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States) plus Germany.

Iran ambassador blames West for Syria crisis

Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi, Iran's ambassador to Russia, has blamed the ongoing Syrian crisis on the West in his interview with Russian media.

“We should ask the US and EU why they are backing terrorists who commit atrocities against the innocent Syrian people,” Mr. Sajjadi said.

“Were you to ask Muslims anywhere around the world what they thought of civilian killings and rapes, their assessment would be the only right one. They are appalled at this,” the diplomat stressed.

“Muslims have no part in these actions… It’s terrorists who have been funded by the Israeli and the Westerners and are now out of control,” the Iranian ambassador claimed.
