(FNA)- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he will not step down after the corruption scandal that has forced the resignations of three ministers.

The ministers' sons were among those detained as part of a huge corruption probe, RT reported.

On Thursday thousands of demonstrators took to Turkey’s streets demanding the resignation of Erdogan.

However, the Turkish PM called the corruption allegations a "smear campaign" and urged his voters to support his political party in local elections next month.
