Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says the foreign policy adopted by the government of President Hassan Rouhani has unsettled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has isolated him in the international arena.

In an address to an open session of the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, Zarif said this development is a “great victory” for all revolutionary forces in the region.

“Iran is a stable and mighty country, but widespread propaganda and political activities are underway to depict Iran as a threat to the region and a danger for international peace and stability,” he stated.

He added that as the foreign minister of Iran, he has made efforts to firmly deal with the international commotion about the country and will not allow Israel’s fabricated propaganda to give the world the impression that the Islamic Republic is a threat to regional or international security.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif noted that during his tenure as Iran’s foreign minister, he will not allow the Zionist regime to tarnish the country’s image under the pretext of Holocaust-denial.

“Netanyahu is shamelessly making a scene, saying Iran is denying the Holocaust and that a Holocaust-denying Iran is seeking to make an atomic bomb to create another Holocaust,” he noted.

“Iran and the Iranian people have always offered a haven to minorities and respect all divine religions and their followers, and genocide and anti-Semitism” are not part of their nature, Zarif said.

“The Iranian people condemn the killing of innocent people, in any place, in any form, and on any scale,” he added.

“It is the Zionist regime that is making every effort to cover up its crimes against the Palestinian people, increase its nuclear arsenal, and… promote Iranophobia,” Zarif said.

The Iranian foreign minister also emphasized that Iran is seeking “constructive interaction” with the world, though it refuses to be a “subservient” or “intimidated” country.

“Relying on God’s eternal power, we fearlessly interact with the world with power and logic in order to protect our national rights and interests,” Zarif said.
