(FNA)- Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan warned of the Army's crushing and serious response to the enemies who dare to make an aggression against the country.

"Today the Ground Force enjoys a high and acceptable level of power and if the enemies come to materialize their threats against the country and its borders, they will face the Islamic Republic of Iran Army's serious response on the scene of action," Pourdastan told reporters on the sidelines of the Ground Force's second stage of massive exercises codenamed Beit ul-Moqaddas 26 in the Central province of Isfahan on Saturday.

He underlined that the Army enjoys full capability to defend the country's borders, and said the drills underway now have shown that the Iranian Ground Force's capabilities have increased.

Pourdastan said that the Army Ground Force used different types of state-of-the-art weapons and equipment in Beit ul-Moqaddas 26 drills, including Shaher sniper rifles, anti-armored weapons and armored ground tactics.

The exercises started in the presence of Pourdastan and a number of other high-ranking Army commanders on Friday.

The Ground Force staged the first phase of the drills by firing the latest home-made missiles in Isfahan province's Nasrabad region near Kashan city yesterday and started the second stage of the exercises in the same region on Saturday.

Pourdastan told reporters earlier today that the Ground Force's UAVs will have a major role in the drills, and added, "We will use all our drones which have reconnaissance, online imaging and suicide (attack) capabilities as well as the air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles mounted on them."

He said that his forces will also stage electronic warfare drills during which the Ground Force units will communicate with each other while staging offensive attacks against enemies' communication systems.
