TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani strongly condemned the Israeli regime's brutal attacks on the Palestinian people in different parts of the Gaza Strip, which has killed 90 and injured scores of others in the Palestinian enclave.

"The new wave of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip is doomed," Larijani said on Thursday.

He noted that the rifts among Muslims caused by Takfiri groups' activities in the region have emboldened the Israeli regime to increase its crimes against the Palestinians.

Israel’s intense bombardment of the Gaza Strip since Tuesday has killed at least 90 people and injure over 600 others.

According to Palestinian sources, one third of the casualties were women and children.

Hamas's military wing, the Izziddine al-Qassam Brigades, had vowed that the Zionist entity would pay "a tremendous price".

Over 300 Palestinians, including Hamas members and lawmakers, have been detained in recent days.

Israel began sending troop reinforcements to its border with the Gaza Strip amid heightened tensions with the Palestinians.

The Israeli military targeted 15 sites in Gaza that they said belonged to Hamas.

"The escalation in the Gaza strip is aimed at spreading confusion and increasing the number of murders, the destruction and the bloodshed. It’s an attempt to draw away the attention of the Palestinian people from the Israeli colonization of Jerusalem," a Hamas spokesman said.
