Tehran's Daily Newspaper Review
Ayatollah Khamenei’s call for unabashed criticism of the Western intellectual approach towards women, the introduction of Ali Nikzad as candidate to take over the controversial Ministry of Infrastructure –formed by the (yet unapproved by Majles) merger of the ministries of housing and transportation, the blunt remarks about Mashaei’s ‘astray current’ –accused of financial and ideological corruption- were the main headlines of Tehran's newspapers today. Today was also the anniversary of the historical victory of Mohammad Khatami over his conservative rival Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri, which ushered in a new era of political freedom and a paradigm shift in Iran's politics.
