(FNA)- The Joint Iran-Russia Chamber of Commerce is due to dispatch six trade delegations to Moscow by the end of 2015.

The issue was raised in a meeting between Russian officials and the Vice-Chairman of Iran-Russia Chamber, Kadir Kijafa.

During the meeting, Kijafa regretted that the two friendly neighbors had no outstanding trade relations because of such problems as currency transfer.

Also during the meeting, it was announced that Iran and Russia were planning to hold a joint monetary-banking conference in Iran.

The event will be jointly organized by Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Kijafa also proposed the two countries hold a conference in Tehran to address the issue and other topics like visa, logistics and storage of commodities.

Over the last several years, Iran and Russia have had vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.

The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.

Earlier this week, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanayee said both Tehran and Moscow were keen to utilize all capacities and potentials to boost their economic ties.

Sanayee wrote on his blog at the Russian social system “Life Journal” that the Iranian trade ministry had started talks with Eurasia Economic Union and the Customs Union for the reduction of customs tariffs between the two countries.

Stressing that Russia has no customs facilitation agreement with countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), he said the only way to use low export tariffs to Russia is sending the commodities to intermediate countries such as Armenia, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Sanayee also referred to the signing of a new consular agreement between Iran and Russia in 2016 and added that it will largely facilitate visa formalities for employers, tradesmen and tourists.

Commenting on problems of transferring money between Iran and Russia through banking system, the ambassador said with the efforts made by the Central Bank of Iran the problem has been solved.
