(1) Vision 1404 [also known as Iran 1404, the Vision Document or 20-Year Document] is a 400-word document developed by the Council of Expediency Discernment and approved by the Supreme Leader, setting the domestic, regional and international objectives of Iran in the 1384-1404 [2005-2025 ] 20-year span.

(2) Hossein Allah-Karam, a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war, is the co-founder of the political movement of “Ansar-e Hezbollah” (The Companions of Hezbollah) which was a vanguard of the struggle with liberal policies (in culture, economy and foreign policy) during the post-war years and during the presidency of Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami. Allah-Karam and his followers were heavily criticized for their vigilantism during the 16-year rule of Reconstruction and Reformist governments.

(3) Hezbollah (and Hezbollahi for an individual) refers to pro-Nezam forces, from anti-Bani Sadr and Marxist forces of the earlier years of the Revolution to the anti-Hashemi and anti-Khatami groups of the 1990s and 2000s.

(4) Britain is known as ‘The Old Fox’ by some Iranian media.
