The major construction project of Khorramabad-Pol-e Zal [Zal Bridge] Highway, which threads through the Zagros Mountain Range in Western Iran, was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In Tehran, Chairman of the City Council Mahdi Chamran protested the government’s on-and-off decision to incorporate municipalities into the Ministry of Interior and disenfranchise council members from electing the mayor.
